Cement Retained Implant Crown

Cement―Retained Implant Crowns are ideal for cases where screw access placement would compromise aesthetics or structure. Fabricated on custom or stock abutments, these restorations provide a natural tooth―like emergence profile and seamless integration with the surrounding dentition.

At Jalandhar Dental Lab, we design cement―retained crowns with a focus on supragingival margins wherever possible to facilitate easy cement cleanup and minimize peri―implant complications. Available in zirconia, PFM, and e―max.

Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Cement-retained crowns are preferred when the implant angulation makes a screw access channel aesthetically unacceptable (e.g., emerging through the labial surface of an anterior crown), or when the patient or clinician prefers the conventional crown-and-abutment approach. They offer a more natural tooth-like emergence profile and are easier to adjust occlusion on chairside.
We design cement-retained crowns with a supragingival or equigingival margin wherever possible to facilitate complete cement cleanup. The margin depth is communicated on the prescription and respected in the design. Clinicians should always use minimal cement, seat with light pressure, and remove all excess before final cure.
The choice of cement depends on the clinical situation and the degree of retrievability desired. Resin-modified glass ionomer cement is commonly used for a balance between retention and retrievability. Definitive resin cements offer maximum retention. Temporary cement can be used initially if retrievability is a priority. Always check the manufacturer's recommendations for the abutment material being cemented onto.
We offer both options. If you are using a stock abutment, you can send it with the impressions for fabrication of the crown directly onto it. Alternatively, we design and mill a fully custom titanium or zirconia abutment from your impression that is optimised for the specific emergence profile and margin location of the case.
