BPS Dentures

BPS (Biofunctional Prosthetic System) Dentures represent the gold standard in complete denture fabrication. Using a comprehensive clinical and laboratory protocol developed by Ivoclar Vivadent, BPS dentures are designed to achieve superior retention, stability, aesthetics, and patient comfort.

Our BPS―certified technicians work in close collaboration with the prescribing dentist through a structured series of try―in appointments and functional records. The result is a complete denture that functions harmoniously with the patient's musculature and provides exceptional aesthetic outcomes.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Biofunctional Prosthetic System (BPS) is a structured clinical and laboratory protocol developed by Ivoclar Vivadent. Key differences include: use of the Stratos articulator for neuromuscular balance, SR Phonares or similar premium teeth, a comprehensive set of functional bite records, and a mandatory try-in stage that verifies aesthetics, phonetics, and occlusion before finalisation. The result is a denture with superior retention, stability, and patient comfort.
A full BPS protocol involves five clinical appointments aligned with four laboratory stages: (1) primary impression / custom tray fabrication, (2) functional impression, (3) jaw registration and tooth selection, (4) try-in (teeth on base plate), and (5) fit and delivery of the finished denture. Each stage is carefully structured to build toward an optimal, functionally balanced prosthesis.
BPS dentures are fabricated using Ivoclar Vivadent premium denture teeth — typically SR Phonares NXT or Ivostar. These teeth are cross-linked acrylic or composite resin with excellent wear resistance, natural anatomical morphology, and a comprehensive shade and mould range for individualised aesthetics.
Yes. BPS is particularly beneficial for first-time denture wearers as the functional records and neuromuscular balance built into the protocol help produce a prosthesis that integrates naturally with the patient's oral musculature. The try-in stage also allows the patient to evaluate the aesthetics and provide feedback before the denture is finalised.
